About The Position

Ryder is hiring a NON-CDL Truck Driver in Reno, NV — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This local route involves driving a Straight Truck 26' to deliver doors and windows, hardware, and cable equipment to locations such as Lake Tahoe, Carson City, and surrounding areas. The position offers no touch freight for hardware and cable equipment, and touch freight for cable equipment. Drivers will be responsible for loading/unloading freight or assisting if required by the customer. Ryder provides well-maintained, safe trucks (36 months or newer) with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling support. Drivers are empowered to make safety decisions, and their jobs are protected. Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Other tasks as assigned
