Requirements

  • One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
  • An active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent
  • Twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
  • No suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five year period immediately preceding employment.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Submission of criminal history reports will be required for a conditional offer of employment.
  • Must undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • All positions require employees hired after February 28, 2022, to obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver’s license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct vision, knowledge, pre-trip, skills, and driving tests for non-commercial and commercial applicants
  • Review vehicle condition and verify that required equipment and safety features meet standards
  • Assess identity documents and applications for authenticity and signs of fraud
  • Assist customers with licensing services, test results, applications, and issuance of products
  • Access systems to verify identities and prevent the creation of false or duplicate records
  • Follow all REAL ID, customer service, fee waiver, and Title VI requirements without exception
