About The Position

This role focuses on evaluating driver license applicants and ensuring that all examinations follow established laws, procedures, and safety standards. You will help maintain safe roadways by applying consistent testing methods and professional communication. As a Driver License Examiner w/ CDL, you will perform the following duties: Exam Administration: Conduct standardized driving and knowledge tests for commercial and non commercial applicants Vehicle Evaluation: Check vehicles for proper mechanical conditions and required safety features Applicant Assessment: Review physical qualifications, driving behavior, and understanding of traffic laws Record Processing: Process test results, applications, and documents while checking for irregularities or fraud Vision Testing: Administer tests such as color perception, telebinocular screening, and other vision assessments Safety Awareness: Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe practices or incidents promptly.

Requirements

  • One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public
  • Active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent
  • Twenty-one years of age at the time of application
  • No suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five year period immediately preceding employment
  • Active unrestricted Class M driver’s license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment
  • Active Class A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License or equivalent with P and N endorsements
  • Commercial Driver License cannot have any of the following restrictions: E, L, N, O, or Z
  • Meet the PA residency requirement
  • Able to perform essential job functions
  • Submission of criminal history reports
  • Undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment
