Requirements

  • One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Two years of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Three years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public
  • Active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent
  • Twenty-one years of age at the time of application
  • No suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five year period immediately preceding employment
  • Meet the PA residency requirement
  • Able to perform essential job functions
  • Submission of criminal history reports (conditional offer of employment)
  • Undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment

Responsibilities

  • Direct employees, assign duties, manage schedules, and review performance for all center staff
  • Monitor the administration of knowledge tests, skills tests, and vision screenings for all applicants
  • Promote courteous service and resolve conflicts to maintain a safe and respectful environment
  • Ensure staff follow customer service rules, REAL ID regulations, and identity fraud prevention procedures
  • Analyze statistics, maintain reports, and oversee inventory of materials and equipment
  • Identify training needs, provide on-site instruction, and report unmet training needs to management
