About The Position

Swift Transportation is seeking a Driver Leader 2 to lead a fleet of 10 or more drivers, manage driver availability and productivity, and maximize profitability for assigned tractors, trailers, and area operations. The role develops drivers through daily interactions, coaching, and positive reinforcement; manages home-time expectations and commitments; and proactively oversees safety performance to meet insurance and claims cost targets. The position requires operational or planning experience, leadership ability, strong communication, multitasking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Compensation is $50,900 to $61,800 annually.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in operations, planning, and/or customer accounts.
Ability to lead others.
Exceptional communication skills.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to work in high-pressure situations in a fast-paced environment.
Associate degree in Business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Must be authorized to work in the United States; the company does not sponsor employment visas.

Responsibilities

Lead a fleet of 10 or more drivers and manage driver availability to maximize fleet productivity.
Routinely review the profit and loss (P/L) for the assigned area and identify ways to maximize profitability.
Develop high-performing drivers through daily interactions, coaching, and positive reinforcement.
Meet driver home-time expectations by actively managing expectations and keeping commitments.
Maximize P/L for all assigned tractors and trailers.
Proactively manage safety performance to achieve insurance and claims cost as a percentage of revenue targets.
