About The Position

Swift Transportation is hiring a Driver Leader 2 to lead a fleet of 10 or more drivers and manage driver availability to maximize fleet productivity. The role includes reviewing profit and loss for the assigned area, improving profitability across assigned tractors and trailers, developing drivers through coaching and daily interactions, meeting drivers’ home-time expectations, and proactively managing safety performance and related costs. Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in operations, planning, and/or customer accounts.
Ability to lead others.
Exceptional communication skills.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to work in high-pressure situations in a fast-paced environment.
Associate degree in business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Must be authorized to work in the United States; the company does not sponsor employment visas.

Responsibilities

Lead a fleet of 10 or more drivers and manage driver availability to maximize productivity.
Routinely review profit and loss for the assigned area and identify ways to maximize profitability.
Develop high-performing drivers through daily interactions, coaching, and positive reinforcement.
Meet driver home-time expectations by actively managing expectations and keeping commitments.
Maximize profit and loss for all assigned tractors and trailers.
Proactively manage safety performance to achieve insurance and claims cost targets as a percentage of revenue.
