About The Position

The Delivery Driver is responsible for the physical movement of inbound and outbound shipments and for distribution functions, including deliveries to customers, job sites, and organizational locations. The role involves loading inventory onto the truck, unloading it at customer sites, and following all safety procedures. The position also performs warehouse shipping and receiving tasks as needed and participates in an on-call rotation for customer delivery callouts.

Requirements

• Proper licensing relative to equipment.
• Forklift certification.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 0–2 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
• Class A CDL state-issued license.
• Complete MSHA training certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles and supplies routinely to ensure road safety.
• Plan routes to and from customers' businesses and adjust for traffic or construction.
• Ensure shipment manifests are complete and accurate.
• Deliver merchandise to customers and contact them if they are not present.
• Load daily merchandise onto the truck and unload merchandise for customers.
• Pull orders to match the manifest.
• Prepare and maintain records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Assist in resolving customer issues.
• Perform tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, picking, stocking, staging, fabrication, and transportation of goods.
• Load and unload materials to and from designated storage areas, such as racks, shelves, or vehicles.
• Stack or pile materials such as lumber, boards, or pallets.
• Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent transported items from shifting or being damaged.
• Verify computations against physical stock counts.
• Receive and fill orders or sell supplies, materials, and products to installers and subcontractors.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for customer delivery callouts as needed.
• Perform other warehouse shipping and receiving functions as needed.
