Driver Helper
About The Position
Waste Connections is hiring a safety-conscious Driver Helper at its Seekonk, Massachusetts location. The position helps a garbage truck driver on assigned routes by manually collecting solid waste and transporting it to appropriate disposal sites. The role involves riding on the truck, loading refuse and containers, assisting with vehicle maintenance and operating loading mechanisms. It is a very physical job performed outdoors in all weather conditions. The employer states that it will help the employee obtain a CDL. The job offers year-round employment, benefits, weekly pay and overtime eligibility.
Requirements
- Steady work history.
- Ability to repeatedly lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities
- Ride on a garbage truck and assist the driver in servicing customers on specified routes.
- Load refuse bags and bring containers to the truck for proper disposal.
- Direct the truck driver when backing.
- Assist with vehicle maintenance.
- Operate packing mechanisms and levers to activate the loading arm.
- Clean the packer blade and truck body.
- Deliver positive customer service interactions.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
