About The Position

The Driver Helper assists the driver with day-to-day activities, including loading and unloading the truck and other duties as needed. The role supports route preparation and delivery activities by staging freight, helping the driver navigate to deliveries, and carrying freight to business or residential destinations. It also includes warehouse material handling and maintaining accurate, timely work in a safe and secure environment.

Requirements

Ability to read a map and general geographic knowledge of the area.
Ability to lift 75 pounds unassisted; the description also states the ability to lift 50 or more pounds unassisted.
Good customer service skills.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Ability to read and comprehend work instructions.
Ability to work well with others, including with little supervision.
High attention to detail.
Ability to speak, read, and write in English.

Responsibilities

Accurately load the daily route onto the truck and scan the route onto the truck.
Assist the driver with navigating to deliveries.
Carry freight with the driver to business or residential destinations.
Use the manifest to pull routes, stage freight, and assist drivers with loading and unloading trucks.
Perform material handling duties such as picking, packing, scanning, kitting as applicable, counting products, and similar tasks.
Ensure work is completed accurately and on time, including packaging and system tasks.
Identify and annotate overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D).
Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
Read and follow detailed instructions in a fast-paced environment.
Help ensure a safe and secure work environment, following TSA and OSHA guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned, including work in other areas to cover absences, provide relief, or balance workload.
