Driver Engagement Advocate

City of New York•New York City, NY
•Onsite

About The Position

The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) regulates New York City’s taxi and for-hire transportation industry. The Office of Community Affairs is TLC’s primary public-facing unit, handling non-licensing correspondence, working with elected officials and other city agencies, providing language access, and coordinating with the Office of Policy to keep licensees, industry stakeholders, and the public informed about agency rules and initiatives. The Driver Engagement Advocate conducts direct, regular outreach to TLC drivers throughout New York City and builds trusted relationships with drivers and driver organizations. This is not a traditional desk-based role: the position is approximately 60% in the field and 40% in the office. The advocate gathers and documents driver feedback, identifies emerging issues, shares findings with agency leadership, and helps connect drivers with relevant TLC resources and staff. The work requires a flexible schedule that can include evenings, nights, and occasional weekends, reflecting when and where drivers work and gather.
