About The Position

Denver International Airport (DEN) is seeking an innovative, organized, and team-oriented Driver Educator with experience in airfield driving and a working knowledge of FAR Part 139. This role involves designing, developing, and conducting training for drivers operating vehicles on the airport, including in Non-Movement, Limited Access Route (LAR), and Movement areas. The position offers flexibility and autonomy to be creative in training styles. Responsibilities include approving training programs, conducting audits, maintaining records of testing and certification, and developing new training programs in conjunction with Airside Operations to meet FAA requirements. The ideal candidate will utilize excellent communication skills to train a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, helping to improve driver training in airfield operations, emergency management, and safety.

Requirements

  • 3 years of airfield driving experience
  • Working knowledge of FAR Part 139
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft Office Software Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Workload management skills (multi-tasking and organizational skills)
  • Experience developing training materials and conducting training
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Two (2) years of experience assisting with educational or training duties and responsibilities in a structured setting.
  • Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
  • FBI criminal background check is required.
  • Must report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain clearance.

  • One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to establish and review their driver training program to ensure they meet airport and federal regulations
  • Schedule and conduct airfield driver education courses (including airfield driving, computer and classroom-based training)
  • Maintains records of testing and certification to ensure compliance with FAA standards
  • Participate in construction Safety Risk Assessments (SRA) to address and identify safety concerns through the life of a project
  • Work with stakeholders to reduce Vehicle Pedestrian Deviations by reviewing past incidents, attend safety hearings, and by offering suggestions based on lessons learned
  • Perform quality assurance reviews with stakeholders in classroom and practical training programs
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly goals as assigned by manager
  • Collaborate with other departments to create training materials
  • Assist with the facilitation of airfield driving simulators
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested
