About The Position

The Driver/Custodian supports adults with developmental disabilities by providing safe and courteous transportation to and from Work and Adult Day Programs and helping maintain clean, safe, and welcoming facilities. The role follows a Monday-to-Friday schedule, with a morning shift from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM and an afternoon shift from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Weekends are off.

Requirements

• Valid Class E driver’s license.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Ability to lift and assist individuals with mobility challenges.
• Reliable, patient, and professional, with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport individuals to and from day programs and work sites using agency vehicles.
• Maintain a consistent transportation schedule and ensure timely pickups and drop-offs.
• Assist clients on and off the vehicle as needed while ensuring their safety and dignity.
• Perform general custodial duties, including cleaning, sanitizing, and light maintenance of facilities and vehicles.
• Report safety concerns, vehicle issues, or changes in clients’ behavior to supervisory staff.
• Comply with local and state driving regulations and agency policies.
