Driver Crewperson Part-time
About The Position
Works under the direct supervision of an assigned supervisor and may be assigned to perform various types of general labor and unskilled work. This includes collecting residential and commercial refuse by riding in a solid waste collection vehicle along an assigned route as a member of a collection crew. The role also involves performing recycling and special collection duties, loading, unloading, and moving materials manually, and performing routine cleaning of buildings and equipment. Additionally, the position requires maintaining various properties and facility grounds, including basic grass cutting, weeding, trimming, and raking. The Driver Crewperson operates and drives various types of trucks (½ ton and up), including packers and trash body trucks, and performs routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning equipment. They are responsible for notifying the supervisor of needed repairs and maintenance for buildings and equipment, and assisting skilled trade personnel in more complex duties.
Requirements
- Ability to operate and drive various types of trucks, ½ ton and up, including packers, trash body trucks, and dump trucks.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment (lubricating, fueling, cleaning).
- Ability to notify supervisor of repairs and maintenance needs.
- Ability to assist skilled trade personnel.
