Driver Crewperson Part-time
About The Position
This position works under the direct supervision of an assigned supervisor and may be assigned to perform various types of general labor and unskilled work. The role involves collecting residential and commercial refuse by riding in a solid waste collection vehicle along an assigned route as a member of a collection crew. Duties also include performing recycling and special collection duties, loading, unloading, and moving materials manually, and performing routine cleaning of buildings and equipment. Additionally, the role involves maintaining properties and facility grounds, operating and driving various types of trucks (½ ton and up, including packers, trash body trucks, dump trucks), and performing routine maintenance on equipment. The Driver Crewperson will notify supervisors of needed repairs and assist skilled trade personnel in more complex duties. Other functions may be assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Must have a valid Class "B" Tennessee Commercial Driver’s License.
- Must comply with Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) Alcohol and Drug testing rules.

Responsibilities

- Operates and drives various types of trucks, ½ ton and up, including packers, trash body trucks, dump trucks.
- Performs routine maintenance on equipment such as lubricating, fueling and cleaning.
- Notifies the supervisor of repairs and maintenance work needed for building and equipment.
- Assists skilled trade personnel in more complex duties.
- Performs additional functions which may be assigned.
