About The Position

ServiceSource is a nonprofit organization that champions people with disabilities and hires individuals with significant disabilities for many of its direct labor positions, operating within the AbilityOne program. This role is responsible for the pickup and delivery of mail in a safe and timely manner according to a schedule and designated routes. The position also involves daily vehicle inspections, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and accurately logging all pickups, deliveries, mileage, and time. The company emphasizes reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Years of experience driving a passenger vehicle will be based on contract requirements.
  • Per contract, valid driver’s license and good motor vehicle (MVR) required.
  • Secret level clearance required
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to resolve customer service related issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for pickup and delivery of mail in a safe timely manner to customer or destination according to the assigned schedule and designated routes.
  • Perform daily inspection of vehicle to include, but not be limited to: ensuring that the tires are in good condition, oil and water are at appropriate levels, the exterior of the van has not been damaged, etc.; and provide written documentation to supervisor of needed service or repairs.
  • Maintain interior vehicle cleanliness on a daily basis and exterior as needed.
  • Maintains logbooks documenting all pick-ups and deliveries and accurately complete mileage and time logs.
  • Ensure that employees/route listing, directions and maps are in the van.
  • Ensure that the proper number of flares, safety triangles, first aid kits, jacks, flashlights, etc., are in the van and in proper working order.
  • Complete accurate incident and seizure reports as needed.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
