About The Position

This is a full-time Driver/Courier position located in Arlington, Virginia. The role requires a SECRET clearance. The primary responsibilities involve providing prompt and dependable daily courier services, including emergency on-call trips, for various government and commercial activities. The driver will be responsible for managing cargo, selecting efficient routes, maintaining accurate logs, coordinating vehicle maintenance, and providing backup support for the supply room and general labor tasks as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current valid driver’s license.
• Acceptable driving record as evidenced by a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
• SECRET clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt and dependable daily courier services to ensure all pickup and delivery deadlines are consistently met for various government and commercial activities.
• Perform unscheduled, on-call emergency courier/messenger trips to pick up and deliver items as directed by government personnel.
• Exercise professional judgment and due care in the loading, arrangement, and securing of all cargo to prevent damage and select the most efficient routes to ensure timely delivery and responsible use of the GFV.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and legible daily trip records/logs for all scheduled and emergency runs, documenting mileage, destination, time, and cargo details.
• Transport the GFV to the designated Public Works service center for routine and corrective maintenance as required or directed.
• Provide backup support for the supply room clerk on an "as needed" basis, assisting with stocking, inventory, and distribution of supplies.
• Assist government laborers with tasks on an "as needed" basis, as directed.
