About The Position

Safety-Kleen, a subsidiary of Clean Harbors, is seeking a Sales and Service Route Driver Trainee (Driver Class B Trainee) in Midland, Texas. The role trains the employee to drive a Class B box truck on a defined route, provide onsite service for parts washer machines, pick up containerized hazardous waste, and sell products and services. The company will pay for the employee to obtain a CDL. The position involves completing scheduled services, deliveries, and pickups; exchanging solution drums at customer locations; completing documentation and labeling; and generating leads and selling additional products and services to existing accounts. The employee must follow applicable safety, environmental, transportation, and regulatory requirements. Clean Harbors describes itself as an environmental, energy, and industrial services provider. Requirements

Obtain a Class B CDL within 180 days of employment; the company pays for it.
Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 30 days of obtaining the Class B CDL.
Work independently while managing time and productivity.
Have basic computer and math skills.
Have good written and verbal communication skills.
Have problem-solving skills.
Be able to perform physical functions required by the job.
Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, as required by the position.

Nice To Haves

Strong customer service skills.
Commercial route driving experience (Class C or non-CDL).

Responsibilities

Comply with safe work practices, policies, and processes, and make health and safety the top priority.
Complete daily scheduled services, deliveries, and pickups in a timely manner.
Switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions at customer locations.
Complete required documentation and labeling.
Generate and collect leads from customers for new products and services.
Sell additional products and services to existing accounts.
Follow local, state or provincial, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT and applicable local, state or provincial, and federal requirements.
Follow corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
Follow company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
