About The Position

Safety-Kleen in Orange, Texas, is hiring a Sales and Service Route Driver Trainee (Driver Class B Trainee). The position trains the employee to drive a Class B box truck to service parts washer machines onsite, pick up containerized hazardous waste, and sell products and services along a defined route. The company will pay for the employee to obtain a CDL. Safety-Kleen is a subsidiary of Clean Harbors, a provider of environmental, energy, and industrial services throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.

Requirements

Obtain a CDL B within 180 days of employment; the company pays for it.
Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 30 days of obtaining a CDL B.
Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity.
Basic computer and math skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform the physical functions required by the job.
Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and position-required physical.

Nice To Haves

Strong customer service skills.
Commercial route driving experience, including Class C or non-CDL experience.

Responsibilities

Prioritize health and safety by complying with safe-work practices, policies, and processes and acting safely.
Complete scheduled services, deliveries, and pickups on time.
Switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions at customer locations.
Complete required documentation and labeling.
Generate or collect customer leads for new products and services.
Sell additional products and services to existing accounts.
Comply with local, state or provincial, and federal regulations and rules.
Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT and applicable local, state or provincial, and federal requirements.
Follow company operating guidelines, procedures, and environmental health and safety guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
