Delivery - Driver CDL B

Erie Materials•Elmira Heights, NY

About The Position

The Driver safely transports exterior building products to customer jobsites and other designated locations. The role involves driving company vehicles, loading and unloading materials, following delivery routes and schedules, communicating with customers and dispatch, documenting deliveries, and providing professional customer service. Drivers may also assist with warehouse work and customer pickups as department needs require. The position requires lifting building materials weighing up to 100 pounds, and deliveries are generally unloaded at the jobsite without assistance. Drivers use proof-of-delivery tools to photograph the jobsite and delivered products, and may need to obtain a customer waiver when a pavement delivery location appears questionable. They provide advance delivery notifications, use mobile apps to share arrival-time and route updates, and respond calmly to unexpected situations. Depending on department needs, drivers may stay beyond scheduled time to help prepare orders for the following day. Drivers operate a safe, clean, well-maintained fleet that includes forklifts, flatbed straight trucks with booms, Moffett-equipped flatbeds, trailers, and soft-side straight rigs. The role may also include operating a forklift, receiving and checking in product, putting away returns, stocking warehouse bays, cleaning warehouse areas, and helping walk-in customers.
