About The Position

The Driller Helper supports drilling operations by assisting with standard penetrometer testing, borings, and geoprobes. The role involves locating borings, recording drilling data, preparing and maintaining drilling equipment and vehicles, and completing field paperwork. The Driller Helper follows company safety procedures, maintains professional and quality standards, and communicates project issues and equipment maintenance needs to supervisors. The position may require out-of-town work and non-standard schedules.

Requirements

• 0–3 years of experience.
• Willingness to work out of town and on non-standard work schedules when required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard penetrometer testing operations, including borings and geoprobes.
• Locate borings in the field.
• Record required drilling data.
• Report project-specific issues to the project manager and/or supervisor.
• Perform drill rig and support truck maintenance and report repair and maintenance issues to the drilling supervisor.
• Follow company safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment for all crew personnel.
• Safely and accurately load the drill rig and support vehicle each day with supplies.
• Complete time sheets and field paperwork promptly and accurately.
• Care for and clean assigned company vehicles, drilling equipment, and other assigned equipment.
• Maintain professional behavior and quality standards.
• Work out of town and on non-standard work schedules when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
