About The Position

This position involves setting up and operating various single or multiple spindle drill presses to perform a range of operations including drilling, countersinking, spot facing, back spot facing, tapping, counterboring, and chamfering. The operator will be responsible for laying out work from drawings and performing operations with or without drill jigs. Additionally, this role may involve setting up jobs and inspecting the first pieces for less experienced operators.

Requirements

• Requires the use of fairly complicated drawings, shop mathematics and a variety of precision measuring instruments with trade knowledge of drill presses.
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience on drill presses.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate all types of single or multiple spindle drill presses to drill, countersink, spot face, back spot face, tapping, counterbore and chamfer.
• Layout work from drawings and perform operations with or without drill jigs.
• May be required to set up jobs and check first pieces for lower grade Drill Press Operators.
