Position Summary
The Drill Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining drill press machinery to produce precision holes in metal components according to blueprints and specifications. This role ensures parts meet required tolerances and quality standards while maintaining safe and efficient operation of equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Knowledge of machining principles, speeds, feeds, and tooling.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings and background checks
• Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork.

Nice To Haves

• 1+ years of drill press or machining experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Select proper drill bits, tooling, speeds, and feeds.
• Set up and operate manual, semi-automatic, or radial drill presses.
• Position and secure workpieces using clamps, vises, jigs, and fixtures.
• Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and bore holes to required dimensions.
• Inspect parts using calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
• Verify hole depth, diameter, location, and tolerances.
• Load/unload materials and prepare components for machining.
• Follow OSHA and company safety procedures; wear required PPE.
• Perform basic maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and replacing tooling.
• Complete production logs and communicate job status to supervisors.
