About The Position

DRMP is actively seeking a highly experienced and technically strong Drainage Group Leader (PE) to lead and grow its Northwest Florida transportation drainage engineering team. You will oversee a talented team of drainage engineers supporting major transportation infrastructure projects throughout Florida while working alongside senior technical leaders and executive leadership within DRMP’s transportation division. As the Drainage Group Leader, you will provide operational, technical, and strategic leadership for DRMP’s Northwest Florida drainage engineering team. You will oversee transportation-related drainage and stormwater management projects while helping drive: Team growth, Project quality, Technical excellence, Client satisfaction, Staff mentorship, and Regional market expansion. This position is heavily focused on FDOT and transportation infrastructure projects and is ideal for candidates with a strong background in: Highway drainage, Stormwater management systems, Transportation corridor drainage, Hydraulic and hydrologic analysis, FDOT design standards, and Transportation infrastructure design. DRMP already has senior technical staff in place to support onboarding and leadership transition, making this an outstanding opportunity for: A technically strong engineer ready for leadership, A current drainage manager seeking a stronger platform, or A transportation drainage expert looking for long-term growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • 10+ years of progressive stormwater/drainage engineering experience
  • Transportation drainage project experience
  • Strong understanding of DOT drainage standards and specifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of transportation-related drainage and stormwater infrastructure projects
  • Oversee hydraulic and hydrologic analysis for roadway and infrastructure projects
  • Manage preparation of: Drainage reports, Stormwater calculations, Construction plans, Specifications, Quantity estimates, Technical documentation
  • Ensure all projects comply with: FDOT standards, Local municipal requirements, Environmental regulations, Stormwater permitting requirements
  • Review engineering deliverables for quality assurance and technical accuracy
  • Support innovative and cost-effective drainage solutions for complex transportation corridors
  • Lead and mentor a growing team of drainage engineers and technical staff throughout Northwest Florida
  • Managing project workloads and staffing allocations
  • Coordinating with regional group leaders and transportation leadership
  • Mentoring junior engineers and EITs
  • Supporting recruiting and hiring efforts
  • Developing future technical leaders
  • Creating a collaborative, high-performance culture
  • Conducting performance coaching and technical development
  • Supporting proposal development and interview pursuits
  • Assisting with transportation business development efforts
