About The Position

The Drafting Specialist supports the production department with planning and construction of homes through drafting and design duties. The role works closely with the operations manager to update, revise, and organize construction plans and related documentation. House drafting experience is required. Compensation is based on experience.

Requirements

• House drafting experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD drafting and design duties.

Responsibilities

• Work with the operations manager to update redlines and adjust or revise new and existing construction plans as requested.
• Perform drafting and design duties in AutoCAD.
• Allocate model plans with site plans.
• Submit plans for permits and track comments and corrections.
• Submit truss requests to a lumber company for design estimates, ensure timely returns, and distribute them accordingly.
• Submit foundation plans for post-tension designs, ensure timely returns, and distribute them accordingly.
• Send plan packages to banks for construction loans.
• Prepare plan renderings as needed.
• Update and organize the company's master plans with the operations manager.
• Revise and update the plan directory.
• Request plan copies from a printing company and distribute them accordingly.
• Create or update specification tables in plans.
