About The Position

CACI is seeking a Facility Design Specialist/CADD Technician to support a mission-critical program at Fort Gordon, Georgia. The role prepares architectural and engineering drawings of facilities, facility systems, and infrastructure in support of facility operations, maintenance, repair, and construction. The position includes fieldwork and site surveys, maintaining worldwide facility and utility drawing databases, preparing and revising CADD drawings, and developing technical documentation and illustrations. The job requires an active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship. Travel may be required up to 10%, locally.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Design Engineering or Engineering Technology and five years of experience in engineering drafting using AutoCAD and 3D drafting using Revit; alternatively, seven years of military-equivalent experience in engineering drafting using AutoCAD and 3D drafting using Revit.
• Ability to perform design studies when objectives are defined by a detailed physical specification.
• Ability to develop and accumulate raw data measurements from physical inspections of electronic equipment and facilities and transform the data into design layouts.
• Ability to produce detailed electrical and electronic schematics using a CADD system, including input/output devices.
• Ability to produce mechanical drawings from layouts in accordance with current versions of MIL-T-31000 and MIL-STD-100, and to produce working drawings and schematics of parts and assemblies from sketches, layouts, and design plans.
• U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and drafting assignments using advanced knowledge of design and drafting standards, practices, and techniques.
• Conduct fieldwork, site surveys, and facility investigations to collect architectural, engineering, and infrastructure data.
• Develop and maintain a drawing database for supported facilities worldwide.
• Maintain facility and utility drawings and provide drawing services to engineers and architects.
• Perform daily tasks needed to operate multiple hardware, software, and databases, and analyze and improve their efficiency and operations.
• Prepare, revise, and change engineering drawings using a CADD system.
• Gather supporting data and prepare detailed drawings showing dimensions and specifications for facilities, utilities, and related information.
• Meet designated deadlines for delivering drawings.
• Prepare detailed layout, assembly, and working drawings; file and index drawings.
• Ensure plans meet project scope, client specifications, and standards.
• Convert sketches, notes, and other input into computer-generated drawings, overlays, graphs, and charts.
• Use specification and site-survey data to prepare drawing documentation for engineering change proposals and engineering installation plans for installation or upgrades of complex electronic communications equipment.
• Define and prepare illustrations for technical publications, including INSCOM/IC regulations and pamphlets, and prepare documentation for briefings and technical reports.
• Maneuver in small spaces and lift up to 50 pounds.
