About The Position

The CAD Technician will produce accurate, high-quality technical drawings and documentation supporting building and site layouts, building infrastructure, manufacturing equipment layouts, facility upgrades, and equipment service projects. The role involves creating and revising drawings for building services, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and process utility systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project deadlines. The position supports manufacturing engineering and facilities teams with capacity expansion, workflow improvements, equipment moves, and plant-layout changes. It incorporates vendor drawings, utility requirements, and field-verification data into final layouts and as-built documentation, with attention to safe operation, maintenance access, ergonomic requirements, material movement, and applicable safety and building standards. Drawings and designs are reviewed for accuracy, constructability, and alignment with project goals.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and 3D models, including building and equipment footprints, utility-connection requirements, equipment clearances, and manufacturing workflow needs.
  • Experience creating or revising manufacturing plant layouts and equipment layouts.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing engineering, plant engineering, facilities engineering, equipment installation, or production-line expansion projects.
  • Must be a W2 candidate; third-party and C2C candidates are not considered.

Responsibilities

  • Create floor plans showing equipment locations, footprints, clearances, operator access, safety zones, aisleways, egress routes, and material flow.

  • Prepare installation and relocation drawings for new or modified production equipment, including foundations, anchoring locations, service connections, and equipment access requirements.
  • Support manufacturing-engineering and facilities teams with capacity expansion workflow improvements, equipment moves, and plant-layout changes.
  • Incorporate equipment vendor drawings, utility requirements, and field-verification data into final layouts and as-built documentation.
  • Ensure layouts consider safe operation, maintenance access, ergonomic requirements, material movement, and compliance with applicable safety and building standards.
  • Review drawings and designs for accuracy, constructability, and alignment with project goals.
