This position reports to: Design Manager __ The work model for the role is: Onsite #LI-Onsite Your role and responsibilities: Responsible for the design and development of a complete range of NEMA motors, including the design and specification of all mechanical components. Prepare complete engineering drawings and manufacturing bills of material while applying sound engineering principles and judgment throughout the motor design process. Develop motors that perform successfully in unique applications and consistently meet or exceed customer expectations. You will be mainly accountable for: Process custom orders and engineering design for industrial electric motors. Initiate Technical Data Release when permitted changes are made to existing Designs, Drawings, Customer Data, and Software. Ensure quality of BOMs, drawings, and motor data. Understand and execute all Regulatory and Agency Approval requirements. Design and Specify orders incorporating these requirements such that all Safety and Regulatory Requirements and Industry Standards are fulfilled. Work with R&D Engineering when needed to develop new motor products and technology. The ability to flex and perform effectively across the Product Development and R&D Teams is essential. Maintaining highest Ethical Standards while contributing as a professional to improving the performance of NEMA Custom Order Design Engineering. Provide technical support for the Product Development Team, Manufacturing, Marketing and Sales. Managing multiple cost reduction and product improvement projects. Interface with District Offices, Inside Sales, Customers, and other groups.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Associate’s Degree or Bachelor's Degree (Engineering Technology, Computer Aided Design – Preferred) with minimum 2 years experience with SolidWorks or other solid model software required.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the design and manufacture of industrial electric motors
  • Advanced Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint – SAP/BUS, Workday.
  • SolidWorks PDM (Product Data Management), SolidWorks Design Professional Certification (CSWP) – Lean 6 Sigma Certification
