About The Position

This position is responsible for supervising the staff and operations of an assigned area. Responsibilities may include supervising staff; directing daily operations; and maintaining department inventory.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree and 3 years of related experience; or, all required certification(s) and 3 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
• S3 Water Distribution Certification
• Confined Space Entry Certification
• Competent Person Certification
• Work Zone Safety Certification
• Trenching and Shoring Certification
• Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

• MDEQ Industrial Storm Water A-1i Operator Certificate within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; coordinating staff training; and supporting personnel procedures.
• Directs operations of an assigned area, including: supervising staff to ensure proper completion of work; directing maintenance and repair of various equipment; and performing related tasks.
• Prepares various reports outlining department performance, completed work, and related matters; orders equipment and supplies to maintain proper inventory levels.
• Responds to emergency and/or standard repair requests; responds to water quality, sewer, and related inquiries or concerns from the public.
• Requires on-call availability.
• Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance, including attendance at required meetings.
