About The Position

Reading Site Contractors (Pottstown Division), a division of H&K Group, Inc., is seeking an experienced Dozer Operator who is energetic, motivated, experienced, and performs work safely. The operator works in accordance with MSHA and H&K safety policies, operates heavy equipment, maintains safe haul roads and bermed stockpiles, and ensures products are blended correctly. The position also involves daily equipment inspections, routine equipment maintenance, and providing excellent customer service to on-site customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, such as a GED, from an accredited educational institution, or one year of related experience and/or training; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience operating a bulldozer.
• Problem-solving ability.
• Ability to fit test and use appropriate personal protective equipment as needed.
• Ability to meet relevant physical requirements, including movement and lifting.

Nice To Haves

• Three years of related experience.
• Experience working in a quarry, heavy civil construction, or another outdoor industrial setting.
• MSHA or other relevant safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections daily and complete inspection sheets.
• Operate heavy equipment by starting engines, shifting gears, using pedals, and turning steering wheels or moving joysticks and levers; equipment includes an excavator with a hammer.
• Provide excellent customer service to all customers on site.
• Maintain haul roads so they are smooth and safe.
• Keep stockpiles properly bermed and maintained.
• Ensure product is blended correctly.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, such as lubricating and cleaning.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
