About The Position

As a DOT Program Coordinator at Jacam Catalyst, you will assist the Manager of DOT and Fleet Programs in ensuring compliance with DOT and related rules. The position requires approximately 80% travel and primarily involves interacting with regulated and non-regulated drivers to train, educate, and encourage compliance and safe driving behavior. The role is primarily performed in front of drivers and outdoors in the elements.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Knowledge of FMCSA and PHMSA regulations.
• Knowledge of medium- and heavy-duty truck components.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Intermediate or advanced computer skills, including navigating a web browser, following online instructions, typing, and using a mouse.
• Customer service skills, including meeting internal and external commitments, responding promptly to customer needs, and seeking customer feedback to improve service.
• Dependable, trustworthy, truthful, and credible work ethic; willingness to provide service or assistance, follow instructions, take responsibility for actions, and do the best job possible.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and goggles.
• Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds in various packaging.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Specialized training in state and federal DOT regulations and safety requirements.
• CDL.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor drivers in completing Commercial Motor Vehicle inspections.
• Provide formal classroom training on various DOT topics.
• Provide formal classroom training for non-regulated drivers on safe driving behavior topics.
• Conduct commentary and evaluation drives and road tests.
• Install and remove ELDs, and provide ELD training and troubleshooting.
• Provide Decision Driving training.
• Document training, coaching, inspections, and related activities in the Safety Management System.
