About The Position

The Driver loads and unloads materials and delivers them to, from, and within work sites as required. The position requires a commercial driver’s license and involves operating medium to large trucks on private roads and public highways. The driver is responsible for securing and documenting cargo, following delivery instructions and routes, inspecting and maintaining the vehicle, and keeping required work-hour or vehicle-maintenance logs. The position works in construction and industrial environments and may involve irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent, with previous years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Must possess working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
• Current Class A CDL with Hazmat/Tanker Endorsement.
• Hazmat truck-driving experience.
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate medium to large trucks to transport materials between company work sites on private roads and public highways.
• Load and unload trucks, using equipment such as forklifts as necessary.
• Secure cargo for transport using rope, blocks, or covers.
• Obtain proper and complete documentation before moving materials.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions and routes.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections and report defects, damage, or needed repairs.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance, such as adding oil, fuel, or fluids.
• Maintain logs of working hours or vehicle maintenance in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations.
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules and perform other duties as required.
