About The Position

Base is America’s next-generation power company, focused on transforming the grid with distributed batteries. We are hiring a systems-minded operator to own and scale Base's door-to-door sales operations, starting in Texas and expanding to new territories. This role is at the intersection of field operations, sales operations, compliance, and performance analytics. The objective is to build the turf strategy, manage the lead routing engine, oversee compliance infrastructure, and own the reporting to optimize the door-to-door channel, turning an early-stage motion into a scalable and repeatable one. The role involves close collaboration with sales leadership, inside sales, growth marketing, member experience, and product teams, with a focus on clear targets, full ownership, and autonomy.

Requirements

  • 3-10 years of hands-on experience in sales operations, field operations, or enablement, with direct ownership of performance targets in a high-growth or early-stage environment.
  • Direct ownership of performance targets in a high-growth or early-stage environment.
  • Experience scaling a repeatable process from one market into multiple.
  • CRM fluency, particularly with HubSpot, including complex workflows, custom properties, and automated routing rules.
  • A compliance-first mindset and brand awareness, understanding the legal and reputational risks in regulated markets.
  • Clear communication skills to translate performance data into decisions, flag issues, and align cross-functional teams.
  • Builder temperament with the ability to identify gaps, build workflows, document them, and move forward independently.
  • Willingness to be hands-on, handling both strategic planning and practical execution tasks.
  • Experience with D2D or outside sales operations is strongly preferred.
  • Experience integrating field apps (SalesRabbit, Spotio, Badger) with a CRM via API is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Data fluency (SQL, BigQuery, Grafana, or similar) and the ability to derive insights from field data to inform next steps.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end market rollout process, including turf mapping, permits, tech stack configuration, CRM plumbing, and field logistics to ensure teams can operate effectively from day one in any new market.
  • Build and manage the engine for moving qualified door dispositions to inside sales or self-serve checkout, aiming for a speed-to-contact of under 5 minutes.
  • Carve territories using deal data, utility boundaries, and market density, and enforce turf boundaries to prevent overlaps with other sales representatives.
  • Manage compliance aspects, including securing municipal solicitation permits, adhering to knocking hour rules, managing do-not-knock lists, and ensuring approved door-facing materials for each market.
  • Source, configure, and distribute necessary equipment like tablets, mobile hotspots, field kits, and branded materials, ensuring representatives are trained and equipped before launch.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators for the D2D channel, such as rollout velocity, speed to contact, lead-to-enrollment conversion, cancellation rates, and compliance incidents, translating data into actionable recommendations.
  • Develop repeatable processes to enable efficient rollout of new D2D markets as the channel scales, aiming for faster launches with each iteration.
