About The Position

This role serves as a subject matter expert for Donor Services, requiring a comprehensive understanding of technical skills, departmental SOPs, quality policies, human resources policies, mainframe donor database, operator manuals, and training plans. The position involves administering basic functions of training operations for Donor Services Associates, including creating and monitoring training schedules, conducting various types of training (Donor Services, CPR, proficiency), documenting and tracking training, reporting and resolving training issues, and ensuring compliance with industry, federal, and organizational guidelines. Additionally, the role supports employee development by assisting with ongoing training, identifying training needs, developing training plans, conducting sessions, and maintaining documentation. Record keeping is a key responsibility, involving documentation of training and proficiency testing in both paper and electronic systems, and ensuring procedural documents are current. The position also requires adherence to the AMO CommYOUnity program expectations for customer service and developing constructive interdepartmental relationships. Special projects and other duties as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license, proof of insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
  • Minimum of 2 years training experience in a medical setting, preferably in a blood center (college degree may be considered in lieu of experience).

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, including editing of training plans and proficiency exams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert for Donor Services, developing and sustaining familiarity with technical skills, departmental SOPs, quality policies, human resources policies, mainframe donor database, operator manuals, training plans, and other relevant materials.
  • Administer basic functions of training operations for Donor Services Associates, including creating and monitoring training staff schedules to ensure a lean training environment.
  • Conduct Donor Services departmental training, CPR training, proficiency training, and testing.
  • Document and track training as required by departmental policy.
  • Report training issues to Operations Managers and work to resolve them as directed.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable industry, federal, and organizational guidelines, protocols, policies, and procedures, including timely and appropriate reporting of all Worker’s Compensation exposures, illnesses, or injuries.
  • Ensure thorough and effective communication and dissemination of information to donors, trainees, coworkers, volunteers, and guests.
  • Assist in conducting ongoing training of existing staff.
  • Assist in the identification of individual and departmental training needs.
  • Assist in the development of training plans and programs.
  • Conduct training sessions and maintain training documentation.
  • Document staff training and proficiency testing on paper records and in the electronic training system of record.
  • Ensure department procedural documents are current, reviewed, and updated in accordance with approved schedules and departmental requirements.
  • Meet and exceed AMO CommYOUnity program expectations and customer service standards.
  • Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative interdepartmental relationships.
  • Execute special projects and other duties as assigned.
