About The Position

We’re looking for a dedicated driver who will be instrumental in achieving our blood collection goals and supporting our life-saving mission. In this role, you will be on the front lines, ensuring the efficient setup, operation, and takedown of mobile blood drives. You will use your communication and customer service skills to build strong relationships with hospital and vendor staff as you deliver and transport blood and blood products. A successful driver will also need exceptional problem-solving skills to manage weather-related driving challenges and report any issues to management. Every day, you will make a measurable difference by helping save lives through safe and efficient transport of blood donations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver’s license. No Major driving violations in the past 3 years upon hire and continued good drivng record during the course of employment
  • The ability to meet Department of Transportation (DOT)regulations. DOT Health Card – Upon hire, a Donor Services Driver will be required to undergo an employment physical exam and obtain a DOT Health Card. Subsequently, Donor Services Drivers must obtain a new DOT Health Care every two years.
  • Will be required to lift and move approximately 1,500 pounds total weight during one hour drive set up and break down periods.
  • Must be able to repeatedly walk long distances while pushing or pulling handtrucks holding 150 lbs of equipment.
  • Driver may be required to climb stairs and carry equipment up and down stairs.
  • At blood drive location, Driver is responsible for opening and setting up tables, chairs, donor beds, equipment bins, and various other supplies which range in weight from 5-50 pounds.
  • Must be flexible to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Frequent travel to mobile and community sites using organizational vehicles, including box trucks and buses.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior driving, logistics, or mobile operations experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Blood Drive Operations: Help set up and take down mobile blood drives with ease and efficiency.
  • Manage Blood Transport: collaborate with your colleagues to safely transport and deliver blood and blood products from drives to ensure they reach their destination in top condition.
  • Assist and Serve: Provide excellent customer service to clients, donors, and team members by building strong partnerships and relationships with hospitals, drive sponsors, and our staff. If the opportunity arises to interact with donors, create a welcoming and comfortable environment for them while ensuring safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Handle Various Tasks: Be ready to tackle additional tasks as they come up to support our team during the drive with a “can-do” approach to meet our mission.
