About The Position

As a Donor Review Coordinator you’ll play a vital role in advancing our mission. In this position, you’ll be responsible for performing a technical review of all donor chart related documents to ensure completeness, accuracy, quality, and compliance with FDA regulations, AATB Standards, and LifeNet Health SOP, as applicable. Determines eligibility of tissue and documents disposition of clinical donors according to defined protocols. Coordinates the communication and daily flow of donor charts to ensure timely completion of donor chart review and approvals. Assists with new-hire onboarding, special projects and process improvement initiatives when needed. Your work will have purpose every single day, contributing directly to life-changing outcomes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma AND FOUR (4) Years – experience in direct health care related field such as medical scribe, ER or ICU tech or equivalent, EMT/Paramedic, hospital co rpsman, laboratory services, blood banking, LPN.
  • experience with electronic medical records and terminology OR Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS or other advanced degree) – zero years of experience

Nice To Haves

  • BA/BS, or other advanced degree – Biological Sciences or related Field
  • ONE (1) year – experience in tissue banking
  • Certified Tissue Banking Specialist
  • Ability to follow defined protocols and procedures
  • Ability to make independent decisions regarding acceptability of donor chart elements and tissues/grafts for release to distribution or for other dispositions.
  • Able to prioritize multiple, competing priorities and manage workload to meet defined business goals
  • Demonstrates the ability to successfully gather and evaluate pertinent donor information
  • Ensures a high degree of accuracy, completeness , and timeliness
  • Builds and sustains partnerships across organizational boundaries and functions as well as outside the organization to achieve common goals and outcomes
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and related software

Responsibilities

  • Compiles and prepares donor chart documents which include but is not limited to recovery documentation, laboratory analysis, medical/hospital records, intake/output/blood bank records, and/or medical examiner reports.
  • Performs technical review prior to MD approval to determine acceptability of tissue and determines disposition of clinical donors according to defined protocols, in accordance with FDA regulations, AATB Standards, and LifeNet Health SOP, as applicable.
  • Determines readiness of the record for progression to the next review step of donor chart review using defined protocols.
  • Reviews documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provides accurate and timely documentation and data verification in donor charts and software systems.
  • Performs SAP entries for usage decisions and/or movement of tissues, as authorized.
  • Initiates and reviews nonconformances.
  • Uses LEAN principles to identify mechanisms to strengthen and improve process controls related to donor chart review functions.
  • Participates in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinates the daily flow of donor chart documents to the Medical Director for review.
  • Prioritizes donor chart review to meet production and distribution needs.
  • Works closely with other QA staff members, fostering a team-oriented work environment.
  • Tracks information needed to complete the donor chart from both internal and external clients.
  • Uses courteous, timely, appropriate, and effective communication methods for both internal/external customers.
