About The Position

Complementing the objectives and overall fundraising goals of Institutional Relations & Development, the Donor Relations Specialist assists in implementing a comprehensive stewardship plan to recognize and continually engage key donors. The role supports donor stewardship, endowed position coordination, donor acknowledgments, membership fulfillment, projects, and engagement events.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of relevant experience within a development department. Strong written and oral communication, organizational, and project management skills are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Experience with Raiser’s Edge and InDesign or similar software is a plus. The position includes travel requirements of 10%–25%.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience within a development department.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong project management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Raiser’s Edge.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of donor stewardship strategies to recognize and engage key donors.
• Coordinate endowed position establishment, appointments, and reappointments in partnership with the Manager, Stewardship Operations.
• Draft and maintain donor acknowledgment templates.
• Manage UH Connect eligibility data and coordinate timely, accurate membership fulfillment.
• Coordinate stewardship and donor relations projects, including vendor management and creative deliverables.
• Support donor and engagement events as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
• Safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI), and comply with applicable training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures.
