About The Position

STARS is seeking a Donor Relations & Development Officer to join their Foundation team at their Calgary base. This role is crucial in supporting the organization's life-saving mission by fostering relationships with donors and stakeholders. The successful candidate will act as an ambassador for STARS, driving strategic relations expansion in Alberta and cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts and sponsorships. Requirements

3 to 5 years of experience in sales or fundraising, preferably in a development-focused role
Demonstrated track record in soliciting major gifts from corporations, foundations, and individuals
Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy

Nice To Haves

Post secondary degree in a related field is an asset

Responsibilities

Supporting the Foundation's efforts to raise critical funds for mission operations.
Driving strategic relations expansion in Alberta by meeting and exceeding activity targets (discovery calls, face to face meetings, submitted proposals and successful solicitations) as mutually agreed upon with the Director of Development.
Identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gifts and sponsorships to the foundation which will include identifying new prospects as well as growing current donor relationships.
Preparing and delivering high-quality proposals, presentations and other communication materials to prospective donors and sponsors.
