The Senior Donor Communications Officer provides advanced expertise in donor‑facing communications by shaping strategic narratives, leading sophisticated content development, and ensuring cohesive brand voice and messaging across philanthropy. Serving as the Foundation’s chief writer and editor, the position produces high‑stakes, donor‑focused content including leadership talking points, donor reports, stewardship communications, and major campaign storytelling. The role oversees complex initiatives such as impact reporting cycles, major fundraising campaigns, and multimedia storytelling, ensuring communications are compelling, accurate, and aligned with donor motivations and organizational priorities. As a trusted advisor, this position partners closely with philanthropy leadership, executive stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams to translate clinical excellence and community impact into powerful donor narratives, while mentoring junior staff and upholding the highest editorial standards. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to compassionate, human‑centered storytelling and a proven ability to transform complex clinical and community impact into clear, inspiring donor‑focused narratives. They would bring strong experience crafting multi‑channel content, interviewing diverse voices, and producing emotionally resonant stories that elevate philanthropy while aligning with IU Health’s mission, values, and strategic priorities.
