Donor Care Specialist Description: As a Donor Care Specialist, you will engage with donors through meaningful, authentic phone conversations, ensuring every donor feels valued and informed. You will work with mid-level and planned giving donors, prospects, patients, and partner organization leadership to share the impact of their contributions, capture donor stories and motivations, invite them to events, express gratitude, and secure ongoing support. This role supports a diverse portfolio of nonprofit organizations across higher education, healthcare, human services, animal welfare, veteran services, and faith-based initiatives. Your work will directly strengthen relationships and help make every donor a champion of the causes we serve.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of total work history
  • Taking personal accountability in every situation with intentional action and self-examination
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Collaborating with your supervisor to identify performance trends and areas of opportunity to elevate your performance
  • Supporting your team and courageously approaching conflicts with optimism and resilience
  • Ability to engage donors in a conversational manner to draw out life events that motivate and define their generosity
  • Clearly present our partner’s cases for support in a compelling fashion, using the required language
  • Ability to listen and react to what donors are sharing to motivate them to give
  • Must be able to work a shift within the hours of 9:00 am CST - 8:00 pm CST (M-F)

Nice To Haves

  • 4-year college degree (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Engage donors and prospects authentically in telephone conversations, emails, and notes
  • Share with donors in a concise and compelling way the impact of their generosity
  • Collect stories and conduct surveys for our partner organizations
  • Maintain high-touch professional care of donors, while maintaining 60 dials per hour
  • Connect with generous annual donors who have great relationships with our partners
  • Collaborate with your expert team to effectively serve our partners and donors
  • Support the Inside Sales Team by taking Inside Sales calls as needed to meet business demands
  • Be an active team participant and share feedback about what is or is not resonating with donors
