About The Position

Hearts Thrift Stores is seeking a Donation Processor and Receiver (DPR) to support the daily flow of donated goods from donors to the sales floor. The role helps stores operate efficiently while providing donors with a positive and respectful experience. It involves hands-on work in the warehouse, processing donations, preparing merchandise for retail, and supporting volunteers and the retail team. The position is part time, pays $16.50 per hour, and is located in person at the Buffalo, New York warehouse. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Reliable and punctual with consistent attendance.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable standing for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic computer skills, including POS systems, email, Google Docs, and Microsoft Word.

Nice To Haves

Retail or sales experience preferred.
Experience working with volunteers is a plus.

Responsibilities

Receive, sort, and price donated items for retail sale.
Greet and assist donors in a friendly, professional manner.
Help unload donations and issue donation receipts.
Share the Hearts Thrift Stores mission and thank donors for their support.
Screen donations and follow company guidelines for accepted and prohibited items.
Identify quality merchandise and work with management on pricing when needed.
Tag and stage merchandise for the retail team.
Track and report daily production numbers and communicate any challenges.
Keep donation, processing, and staging areas clean and organized.
Assist with inventory needs and supply restocking.
Provide clear direction when working with volunteers.
Follow company policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
Perform other duties as assigned.
