About The Position

The Donation Center Attendant is responsible for ensuring donor and customer delight, managing the donation process from greeting donors to breaking down and categorizing donations. This role also involves maintaining the site's appearance and safety standards, managing supplies, and adhering to company policies and procedures. The attendant plays a key role in accurate donor tracking and counts, proper equipment reporting, and safe material handling. Additionally, the position may involve assisting the transportation team, participating in external activities, and attending required training.

Requirements

  • Ability to greet donors in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner within 10 seconds.
  • Ability to unload donations from vehicles.
  • Ability to offer tax receipts.
  • Ability to maintain accurate daily counts of donations.
  • Understanding that donated items are property of Memphis Goodwill and not for personal use.
  • Ability to break down donations into categories.
  • Ability to maintain site appearance and safety standards.
  • Ability to order and maintain supplies efficiently and securely.
  • Adherence to Memphis Goodwill and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Following good safety and security practices.
  • Reporting safety hazards and injuries to leadership or risk management.
  • Ensuring proper accuracy of donor tracking and counts.
  • Ensuring proper use and accurate reporting of on-hand equipment.
  • Working in a safe manner.
  • Adhering to proper handling of material movement equipment.
  • Communicating any safety hazards or concerns.
  • Assisting the Transportation team with equipment delivery and pickup.
  • Performing duties within the framework of Guiding Principles.
  • Communicating with trainers and leadership on opportunities.
  • Supporting ADC peers on specific duties.
  • Attending in-service and related training as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures 100% donor and customer delight.
  • Greets donors promptly and courteously, unloads donations, offers tax receipts, and maintains accurate daily donation counts.
  • Manages donated items, ensuring they remain property of Memphis Goodwill and are not used personally.
  • Breaks down donations into categories.
  • Maintains the drive-through and ADC site according to image and safety standards.
  • Orders and maintains supplies efficiently and securely.
  • Adheres to all Memphis Goodwill policies and procedures, follows safety and security practices, and reports hazards and injuries.
  • Ensures accuracy of donor tracking and counts.
  • Ensures proper use and accurate reporting of on-hand equipment.
  • Works safely, adheres to proper material handling equipment use, and communicates safety concerns.
  • Assists the Transportation team with equipment delivery and pickup when possible.
  • Performs duties within the framework of Guiding Principles.
  • Communicates site opportunities to trainers and leadership, and supports ADC peers.
  • May participate in activities outside of Goodwill.
  • Attends in-service and related training as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
