About The Position

The Donation Attendant works in the Retail department, receiving donations at The Salvation Army store. The attendant assists donors courteously, provides receipts, sorts and stacks donated materials, and helps maintain the donation area and trailer/pod. The role also includes completing reports and paperwork, assisting drivers with loading donations as needed, monitoring supplies, and securing the donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift. Flexible availability is required for scheduling.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and donors.
Ability to read and write and understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently or continuously.
Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds, with or without assistance.
Ability to perform repetitive-motion tasks.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain the area in and around the donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
Wear neat, clean clothing that complies with The Salvation Army dress code policy.
Courteously receive donated items from donors and provide receipts.
Maintain reports and paperwork as instructed by the supervisor.
Separate and sort donated materials into appropriate containers and stack them as instructed by the supervisor.
Assist Salvation Army personnel and drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary.
Inform the supervisor when supplies such as brooms, receipts, totes, or carts are running low.
Secure and lock the donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift.
Maintain flexible availability for scheduling.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
