About The Position

The Donation Attendant works in the Retail department and is responsible for maintaining the donation trailer or pod, assisting donors, processing donated items, and supporting store operations. The role requires flexible scheduling availability and includes other duties as assigned. The position reports to the Store Manager.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and donors.
• Ability to read and write and understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently or continuously.
• Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds, with or without assistance.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks.
• Flexible availability for scheduling purposes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean the area in and around the donation trailer or pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Wear neat, clean, suitable clothing in accordance with The Salvation Army dress code policy.
• Courteously receive donated items from donors and provide receipts.
• Maintain reports and paperwork as instructed by the supervisor.
• Separate and sort donated materials into proper containers and stack materials as instructed by the supervisor.
• Assist Salvation Army Pennsylvania drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary.
• Inform the supervisor when supplies such as brooms, receipts, totes, or carts are running low.
• Secure and lock the donation trailer or pod at the end of each shift.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
