About The Position

The Donation Attendant works on the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center’s Retail Team at the Buena Park Store, which supports the Adult Rehabilitation Program. The role helps provide a positive donor experience and contributes to the success of the program. Duties include maintaining the donation area, receiving and sorting donations, completing required paperwork, assisting with loading donations, monitoring supplies, and securing the donation trailer or pod.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Must pass a background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry checks.
Ability to read and write and understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently or continuously.
Ability to grasp, push, and pull items such as carts, racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks, and hand trucks.
Ability to move product weighing up to 75 pounds.
Ability to perform repetitive-motion tasks.
Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Maintain and clean the area in and around the donation trailer or pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
Assist donors with the receipt of donated items and provide receipts.
Maintain reports and paperwork as instructed by the supervisor.
Separate and sort donated material into the proper containers and stack material as instructed by the supervisor.
Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary.
Inform the supervisor when supplies such as brooms, receipts, totes, and carts are running low.
Secure and lock the donation trailer or pod at the end of each shift.
