About The Position

The Donation Attendant works as part of the store team to deliver an excellent customer and brand experience and promote sales for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona and its affiliated entities. The role receives donations courteously and efficiently, then places items in the appropriate location in the production room or on the sales floor.

The position also supports customers and store operations by maintaining merchandise organization, assisting with furniture and other items, handling merchandise on trucks or trailers as needed, and safely operating and inspecting company equipment. The attendant may perform floor care and cross-train in other store positions based on business needs. Regular, consistent in-person attendance and modeling Goodwill’s core values are expected.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to pass a forklift certification class.
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for the position.

Responsibilities

• Accept donations from customers and provide outstanding customer service.
• Correctly label Gaylords.
• Offer a receipt to every donor, regardless of donation size.
• Ask about potentially hazardous products being donated and provide customers with a list of proper disposal locations.
• Write sales tickets and sold signs for furniture, electrical items, and other large items.
• Help customers load and unload furniture or other items to and from vehicles.
• Maintain merchandise placement and production-room organization according to PPM (picture process map) standards.
• Load or unload merchandise onto or off trucks or trailers as needed.
• Safely operate a pallet jack and walkie stacker.
• Conduct daily safety inspections of company-owned equipment, including walkie stackers, and follow and ensure compliance with safety rules and use of appropriate safety equipment.
• Perform floor care duties at a retail store as needed.
• Cross-train in other store positions as business needs require.
• Maintain regular and consistent in-person attendance.
