About The Position

The Donation Attendant works as a member of the store team to provide an excellent customer and brand experience and promote sales for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona and its affiliated entities. The role receives donations courteously and promptly, then places items in the appropriate location in the production room or on the sales floor.

The position also supports customers and store operations by organizing merchandise, assisting with furniture and other large items, helping load and unload merchandise, and safely operating store equipment. Attendants may perform floor care and cross-train for other store positions as business needs require. Regular, consistent in-person attendance and modeling Goodwill’s core values are expected.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to pass a forklift certification class.
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for the position.

Responsibilities

• Accept donations from customers and provide outstanding customer service.
• Correctly label Gaylords.
• Offer a receipt to every donor, regardless of donation size.
• Ask about potentially hazardous donated products and provide customers with a list of locations for proper disposal.
• Write sales tickets and sold signs for furniture, electrical items, and other large items.
• Assist customers with loading and unloading furniture or other items to and from vehicles.
• Maintain merchandise placement and production-room organization according to PPM (picture process map) standards.
• Assist with loading and unloading merchandise onto and off trucks or trailers as needed.
• Safely operate a pallet jack and walkie stacker.
• Conduct daily safety inspections of company-owned equipment, including walkie stackers, follow safety rules, and use appropriate safety equipment.
• Perform floor care duties at a retail store as needed.
• Cross-train in other store positions as business needs require.
• Maintain regular and consistent in-person attendance.
