About The Position

The Donation Attendant maintains the area in and around a Salvation Army donation trailer or pod, assists donors with donated items and provides receipts, and sorts and organizes donations into appropriate containers. The role also supports loading donations onto trucks, maintains required reports and paperwork, monitors supplies, and secures the donation trailer or pod at the end of each shift. The attendant must be neatly dressed in accordance with the Salvation Army dress code and have flexible availability for scheduling. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and donors.
Ability to read and write and to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently or continuously.
Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds, with or without assistance.
Ability to perform various repetitive-motion tasks.

Responsibilities

Maintain and clean the area in and around the donation trailer or pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
Dress neatly and cleanly in suitable clothing in accordance with The Salvation Army dress code policy.
Courteously assist donors with the receipt of donated items and provide receipts.
Maintain reports and paperwork as instructed by the supervisor.
Separate and sort donated material into proper containers and stack material as instructed by the supervisor.
Assist Salvation Army personnel and drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary.
Inform the supervisor of needed supplies before they run out, such as brooms, receipts, totes, and carts.
Secure and lock the donation trailer or pod at the end of each shift.
Maintain flexible availability for scheduling purposes.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
