About The Position

The Domestic Violence Victim Advocate, under the supervision of the Victim Witness Services Director, provides advocacy and crisis intervention for victims of domestic violence and other crime. Key responsibilities include: Victim Advocacy and Support: This category involves advocating for victims of domestic violence and general crime, including accompanying them to court and offering necessary support. Collaboration and Coordination: Focuses on working alongside law enforcement, court staff, and human service organizations to provide comprehensive support. Crisis Intervention and Service Planning: Entails conducting crisis intervention, evaluating victims’ needs, and creating tailored service plans. Community Engagement and Reporting: Covers educating victims about their rights and the justice process, maintaining program data, and participating in community outreach and training initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license.

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
