OUR VALUES HOPE values: Humility, Ownership, Perseverance, Engagement The DV Specialist II is primarily responsible for providing direct services to families exposed to domestic violence. Such services may include safety planning, service planning, assessments, links to community resources, individual/group session. The program operates 24/7 in a shelter environment and the DVSII must be available to accommodate this request when needed.

Requirements

Four-Year College Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency - general major.
Basic knowledge or training in a specialized or technical field or trade, such as social work, professional accounting, finance, business administration, and marketing.
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or any relevant behavioral health field.
Over two years, up to and including four years of experience.
Two years of work experience in domestic violence or related field.
Responsible for working with and providing direct services to high-risk clients in domestic violence situations.
Must have the ability to maintain clear professional boundaries while providing compassionate services.
Good communications skills.
Valid Hawaii driver's license.
Clear driver's abstract.
Willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
Subject to a criminal background investigation.
Must complete CPR, CPI and/or van driving training as such training is necessary to ensure ability/continued ability to perform essential functions of this job.
Must complete CPI classes OR other Behavioral Management certification as may be contract-mandated.
Must complete First Aid classes.

Nice To Haves

Knowledgeable and understanding of trauma-informed care and the psychological and emotional effects of trauma and violence is preferred.
Previous work experience in domestic violence strongly preferred.
Other related experience may be considered (i.e. sex abuse, substance abuse).
Organizational skills helpful as position requires ability to maintain detailed case files.
Knowledge in the area of community resources is helpful.

Facilitate groups for survivors of domestic violence.
Conduct intakes and assessments.
Provide support to victims who have experienced emotional, physical, psychological, or financial abuse.
Maintain clear professional boundaries while providing compassionate services.
Maintain detailed case files.
Travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
Furnish or obtain information and/or provide participant services through contacts inside and outside the organization.
