About The Position

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical is seeking a full-time DOL-registered electrical apprentice. The apprentice assists commercial electrical journeymen with the installation and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and other equipment while enrolled in a DOL-registered state electrical apprenticeship training program. The position covers apprentice levels from first year through fourth year. Work may take place in heat, cold, rain, or snow and may involve multiple types of ladders and mechanical lifts. The apprentice must follow company and customer safety policies and meet state apprenticeship training requirements, including attending classes and maintaining passing grades. Some travel may be required. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or work authorization support; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Requirements

Current registration in, or eligibility to register for, a DOL-approved Texas electrical apprenticeship training program.
Current Texas Electrical Apprentice License, or ability to obtain and maintain one.
High school diploma or GED.
OSHA 10 certification, or ability to obtain it.
Reliable transportation to and from work and apprenticeship training classes.
Own basic electrical hand tools and safety-toe boots.
Successfully pass a post-offer background check and drug test; pass an MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.
Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future need for employer sponsorship.
